What the Slack Marketplace is#
The Slack Marketplace is where Slack lists apps and integrations. Developers submit an app from its configuration page, and the Slack Marketplace team checks it against published guidelines before it can be listed (review guide).
Who it suits#
Its audience is Slack customers looking for apps that help them get work done. It suits makers whose product does something useful inside Slack itself. The submission guidelines name apps that are unsuitable, including apps that only use Sign in with Slack, export message data, embed Slack into another site or provide only an MCP server without meaningful in-Slack functionality. Our guide on how to publish a Slack app covers the build side.
How to submit#
- Sign in and get your app fully working, public and installed on 10 or more active workspaces.
- Open the Submit to the Slack Marketplace section of your app's configuration page.
- Review your listing details and scopes, and provide test account credentials for your service and a way for the team to install the app. A short video demo can help the review go faster.
- Pass the automated tests, then submit for manual review.
- Address all feedback. Once approved, you choose when to publish.
Cost, link type and review time#
- Cost: Free. The review guide describes the full submission and review flow with no fee or payment step in it.
- Link type: dofollow. On a sampled listing checked on 2026-10-19, the Learn More link in the app header pointed to the app's own landing page with no rel attribute.
- Review time: The preliminary review takes up to 10 business days, and the functional review takes up to 10 weeks for new submissions and 6 weeks for changes to published apps (review guide).
The catch#
Per the review guide, apps below 10 active workspaces are blocked from submitting, and an active workspace means one used in the past 28 days. If the preliminary review sends your app back, your place in the queue resets each time you resubmit. Slack says it cannot speed up a review to fit your launch date, so submit well ahead. More places to list are on our launch sites page.
